I want to know whether it is possible to make the laptop battery stop charging at 80% while I am connected to the charger, because I searched a lot and did not find a solution.

Hi @ FathiX10z,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The Victus by HP laptops did not have a dedicated "conservation mode" feature similar to some other laptop brands. However, laptop features and functionalities can change with new models and software updates.

If you want to limit your laptop battery charge to 80%, you may need to rely on third-party applications or settings within your operating system (assuming you are using Windows). Here are the general steps you can follow:

Using Windows Power Plan Settings:

  1. Open Power Options:
    • Right-click on the battery icon in the system tray.
    • Select "Power Options."
  1. Choose a Power Plan:
    • Click on "Change plan settings" next to the power plan you are currently using.
  1. Advanced Power Settings:
    • Click on "Change advanced power settings."
  1. Battery Settings:
    • Look for settings related to the battery.
    • You may find an option like "Battery Charge Threshold" or similar.
  1. Set Charging Threshold:
    • Adjust the settings to set a maximum battery charge percentage (e.g., 80%).

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

In some cases, laptop manufacturers include battery management options in the BIOS/UEFI settings. To access this:

  1. Reboot your laptop.
  2. Press the necessary key to enter BIOS/UEFI. This is usually displayed during the boot process (common keys include F2, F10, Del).
  3. Explore the settings to see if there's an option related to battery charging thresholds.

Check for Updates:

Make sure your laptop's BIOS/UEFI and drivers are up to date.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
