Recently, i noticed the ventilators on my hp omen 17 randomly stopping when the computer isn't on idle. sometimes when I'm in a game or watching a video, i hear the ventilators stopping and starting again when the cpu/gpu temp reached 90+ °C causing a huge drop in performance. Once it overheated and shut itself off with Omen gaming hub showing the vents at 0 rpm.
i already cleaned the inside of the laptop with a pressure can and did a windows reset but the problem still persist and i'm running out off ideas.

@Terence_PEI, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OMEN 17 Overheating Issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like you're experiencing significant overheating issues on your HP OMEN 17, particularly with the fan stopping and starting unpredictably. This can lead to performance drops and even system shutdowns. Here are several steps you can take to address this issue:
Check OMEN Gaming Hub Settings: Ensure that the fan settings in OMEN Gaming Hub are configured correctly. Sometimes, the settings might not be optimized for heavy gaming or other intensive usage.
Use System Vitals to Monitor Temperatures: In OMEN Command Center, use the System Vitals feature to monitor your CPU/GPU temperatures and fan speeds in real-time. If you notice abnormal behavior, it can help you diagnose the issue.
Update Drivers and Firmware: Make sure all your system drivers, especially for the GPU and system firmware, are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues and improper fan operation.
Check Task Manager for High CPU Usage: High CPU usage can cause overheating. Open the Task Manager, check for any applications using excessive CPU resources, and close them if necessary.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
