Hi @narindersandhu

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s frustrating, and you’re absolutely right to question it—your warranty should begin from the date of purchase, not before. What’s likely happened is that the warranty was auto-activated when the laptop was first shipped to a retailer or registered internally by HP.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve warranty issues:

Check Purchase Date: Verify the purchase date on your receipt or invoice to ensure it aligns with the warranty period.

Contact HP Support: Reach out to HP Customer Service. They can assist you in adjusting the warranty start date based on proof of purchase. You can contact them through their website: HP Customer Service.

Register Your Product: Ensure that your laptop is registered with HP using your purchase details, which can sometimes resolve discrepancies related to warranty periods.

Proof of Purchase: Prepare your purchase receipt or any proof of purchase as you may need to submit this to have your warranty adjusted.

MyHPSupport Registration: Register your product on MyHPSupport to manage your cases and warranties more effectively. If you haven't done so already, here is the MyHPSupport Individual User Guide.

By following these steps, HP should be able to correct any discrepancies with your warranty period and provide the full coverage that you are entitled to.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
