@mr14a

Welcome to HP forums.

Connect an external keyboard and check if the issue persists?

Check for any dust or if the keys are pressed?

Meanwhile:

Test the Keyboard.

  1. Download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

  2. In Windows, search for and right-click HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows, and then select Run as administrator.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows as an administrator

  3. Click Component Tests, click Input Devices, and then select the Keyboard Test.

    Running the Keyboard Test

  4. Click Run once to begin the test.

The test ends when you complete the tasks or after 3 minutes.

You can refer this HP document for more assistance:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for the help.

I have tryied to use an exernal keyboard and it worked without any trouble.

I did the test you've suggested and as expecte all the keys are working fine.

The problem is not sofware realted, it is just that some keys don't register if I press them slightly on there side. That is why I was wondering if changing the keyboard itself would help but I cannot find the exact reference of the keyboard and I don't want to take chances.

Could you help me with that? The device manager doesn't give me any reference ont the model of the keyboard
Thank you in advance

If you are comfortable, you could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).

or contact our HP talk support for having the keyboard replaced.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

This would have been a great answer, however neither the Product ID nor the serial number nor the name of the laptop is known by the website.

I am sending you the sticker with all the informations as a photo.

The only thing I've gotten out of the website is that if I enter the product number without the #abc, it reconizes the computer but doesn't give me any part information.

I would love it if you could help me a little bit more

Thank you in advance

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Cheers.
