Hello, I previously had problems with the battery care function not performing as expected. It is documented in this link.
My problem was mostly with the 50% battery level setting in Bios. When I switched to 80%, and when I followed the advice given by the HP agents on this forum, things have been working fairly well, and I like the 80% approach.
Well I seem to have done something to break this.
Once in a while my laptop wakes up form sleep in the middle of the night, even when unplugged. This is with my mouse completely turned off, so I know my mouse is not waking it up. The other night it occurred twice, and I was not plugged in, so it was draining my battery down.
So I started searching for how to fix this waking up problem. I read about things in the task scheduler to change. The main suggestion I read about wasn't actually available, so I kept searching. Now I can't remember what exactly I changed, if anything, but it wasn't much (I actually thought I didn't change anything, but I can't swear to it, evidence suggests I did something). But now my battery charges to 100% every time I'm plugged in.
Any ideas of what might have happened to break the battery care function, and how to fix it ?

@The_Fossette, it magically started working again on its own, last night. I'm just giving it some more time to see if it stays. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason as to why it stops working once in a while. Anyway, if it comes back I'll try your solutions. For now I'm afraid to touch it. I'll accept as a solution. Thanks !!!
