Hi, I wanted to ask if it's possible to upgrade from a LITEON CA1-8D128-HP to an MSI SSD Interne SPATIUM m450 PCIe 4.0 NVME M.2 1TB.
thank you.

I'd like to add to the discussion. While it's true that your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0 and the MSI SPATIUM m450 is a Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD, the upgrade can still make sense depending on your specific needs.
Even though you won't reach the maximum advertised speeds, the MSI SSD can provide benefits like improved multitasking, faster application loading, and enhanced overall system compared to the LITEON drive. Plus, the increased storage capacity (1TB) can be valuable. Consider your usage patterns.
If you often work with large files or run data-intensive applications, the upgrade can still yield noticeable performance gains. However, if your tasks are mostly light, you might not fully avail the Gen 4.0 speeds.
In short, while you won't maximize the MSI SSD's capabilities, it could still be a worthy upgrade for certain use cases. Just be aware of the potential speed limitations due to the Gen 3.0 slot.
