If i did this and something breaks will it be covered by my warranty?

It shouldn't break anything -after all, you can reverse it and enable your integrated graphics.

 

You brought up a good point.  If your laptop is under warranty, I would contact the techies employed by HP to assist/explain to you how to resolve your issue: Orders and Customer Support | HP® Official Site.

 

After all, you paid for this service.

unfortunately, i found out that my laptop USB C port is not connected to my GPU and will not work for VR. Thank you for the help. I apologize for wasting your time
