Hi @johan_lael,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Victus By HP Gaming Laptop (15-Fa0000 series) is experiencing issues with the video-capturing device, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Check Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
  • Look for the category named "Imaging devices" or "Cameras." Check if your video-capturing device is listed and if there are any error symbols next to it (such as a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark).

Update Drivers:

  • If there are issues or errors in Device Manager, try updating the drivers for your video-capturing device.
  • Right-click on the device in Device Manager and select "Update driver."
  • Choose to search automatically for updated driver software.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve hardware and software issues. Restart your laptop and check if the video-capturing device is recognized afterward.

Check Privacy Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" and select "Privacy."
  • Under "Camera," make sure that the camera is set to "On" and that individual apps have the necessary permissions to access the camera.

Update Operating System:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Check for and install any available updates.

Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts:

  • If you have recently installed any third-party software related to video or camera functions, it may be causing conflicts. Try uninstalling such software and check if the issue persists.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Open "Settings" and go to "Update & Security."
  • Select "Troubleshoot" from the left pane.
  • Run the "Hardware and Devices" troubleshooter to identify and fix any hardware-related issues.

Check the Camera App:

  • Open the built-in camera app on your laptop to see if it can detect and use the video-capturing device. If it works in the camera app, the issue may be app-specific.

Update BIOS/UEFI:

  • Check the HP support website for your laptop model and see if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available. If so, follow the instructions to update the firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
