I have a Victus Laptop with 8gb RAM (I know it's low for a gaming laptop but it is what it is), I am facing this issue for quite a while now(after 15 months of purchase): whenever i am using a browser or something i can't open MSexcel/powerpoint..., notpad, or sometimes even turning the "Bluetooth" or "hotspot" ON triggers a freeze in my screen and my laptop just shows "Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart" with the error as some kind of bug check error or video memory management error (mostly). My laptop is up-to-date with the latest software, windows updated, drivers updated and all things fine till the date, but this error just doesn't leave me. My RAM is constantly on 80% or above in use but that isn't the issue (i think). But still i am thinking of upgrading RAM, just not sure that will upgrading my RAM help me in this situation as there is no clear evidence for this claim. HP community Help me! Please. 😓🙏🏻

Hi @Bhavya_Thakur

Using 80% of your RAM is too much; that’s probably your problem. For smooth performance, it shouldn’t exceed 50%.

I recommend closing all background applications, checking the Task Manager to see which programs start when you turn on your laptop, and disabling most of them—leaving only Windows Defender and the Realtek driver. Don’t use third-party antivirus software; it usually consumes too much memory.

Well most of my startup apps are disabled, and yet the RAM just doesn't stay calm 🥲. Most of the time i have to use multiple Browsers with some tabs (4-5 in each) so my memory is consumed by them around (1-1.5 GB in all), the rest is by some apps from hp and antimalware and so...
Nowadays, this has gotten worse, sometimes it just reboots on its own due to some bugcheck (i see that in event viewer) and yesterday the *lag* was just too much when i was opening some apps, even the task manager was not responding normally it stayed in a lag for more than 30 sec.

What can i do now? As we know the RAM prices right now are the highest in ages.

Even when I'm typing this, random freezes are observable and it's just so frustrating 😭😭
HELP me please!!

As I mentioned, you should stop running apps in the background, not use third-party antivirus software, and stick to a single browser. It has very little memory, and if you don't want to buy a new one, you'll have to make other compromises regarding the software you use.
