Hi @samarth25,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to experience heating issues, especially with a gaming laptop like the OMEN by HP 16.1-inch. Gaming laptops are designed to handle more demanding games, but they can still get hot under various conditions. Here are a few things to consider.

  • Cooling System: Make sure your laptop's cooling system is working properly. Dust buildup can clog vents and affect cooling performance. Regularly clean the vents and fans to ensure good airflow.
  • Thermal Management: Check if your laptop's thermal management settings are optimized. HP laptops often come with software that allows you to adjust fan speeds and cooling profiles.
  • Performance Settings: Ensure that your laptop is set to high-performance mode, especially if you're playing games. Sometimes, power-saving settings can affect performance and heat management.
  • Background Processes: Close unnecessary background applications and processes that might be using CPU or GPU resources, causing additional heat.
  • Ventilation: Use your laptop on a hard, flat surface to ensure proper ventilation. Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or couches that can block airflow.
  • Drivers and Updates: Keep your drivers and BIOS updated. HP often releases updates that can improve performance and thermal management.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
