61/301 ink problem

Hell, o just received my ink and during my set up I cant seem to get the color ink to register, even after cleaning the heads and cleaning the connection sensors on the cartridge. My printer still tells me that the cartridge is empty and needs to be changed. The sensors look a little worn but I don't know how to get a replacement! I have the XL XL cartridges, and the black works fine but my color is not working for me am I doing something wrong or is it that the XL color won't work in my printer?
