I am hoping someone can help me

I purchased a hp envy6020e on the weekend from a garage sale and the person was moving interstate

i didnt think to get his details because I wasn’t aware that printers are now connected to a user 😣 I have had my hp envy 5032 for years and assumed it would be a plug and play thing but it has connected to my wifi and keeps saying propblem with account

after some googling I now see that hp has set up some kind of subscription thing

Was this an epic fail on my behalf and have I been ripped off because he seems to have sold me a printer locked to an account of some sort

is there anyway to unlink the printer or am I stuck with an expensive paper weight 😢
