Hello all,

i got an email message today that stated, "Action Needed: Printer Connection Lost" - why did I get this? I do not print every day, sometimes not for several. I was not aware that when the printer was sleeping it lost connection to the internet.

I hope someone can help?

Dear CinderKona,

 

The message you received on your printer is due to the loss of wireless connection. Usually when a printer is in sleep mode, the internet does not disconnect, but it is possible. There are a few ways to reconnect your printer:

1. You can connect via the printer's touchscreen, going into the internet settings area

2. If you have a mobile device, then you can download the HP Smart App that will allow you to connect your printer to the internet.

3. You can connect using the printer's driver on a pc or mac

4. If you have a Windows computer, then you may be able to connect if you reinstall the printer's drivers on your computer again.

thanks for replying but there will be times when my printer is off-line or not connected to the internet as it is sleep mode.
