As an InstantInk member, I am asked to keep my printer powered on and connected to the internet all the time. Since I do not use my printer on a daily basis, as an eco-conscious member of society, I am concerned about the waste of electricity and abuse of internet service availability. Even if the printer is operating in low power mode and only uses a little bit of electricity, a little bit times a couple million printers is probably a significant use (waste) of energy. Is there not a more eco-friendly way to implement the need to monitor my usage, for instance, keeping the printer powered on for at least an hour whenever it has been used?
