This write-up is less of a question more of a gripe.
Out of the blue in August of 2020, my HP ENVY 7855 refused to print stating there was a black cartridge error. I tried the usual troubleshooting:
- Remove/Replace Cartridge
- Make sure Soft and Firmware up to date
- Clean contacts
- Reboot computer
- Unplug/Reboot Printer
I opened a case with HP support and was promptly sent a new cartridge and the problem was solved.
Fast forward to May 2021. The exact same scenario occurred.
I'm not complaining about the overall service from HP (although I hope this doesn't happen with every cartridge). But after settling back to enjoying a working printer I received an email (excerpted below) that annoyed me with its patronizing graphics and tone. I know it's a canned message. But it was a malfunctioning cartridge (or other system components) that created the need for early replacement. Not my stupidity. My rant is done.
Please don't scold me like a child
