I cannot print in black ink, even though the cartridge still has ink in it. My test page has color but no black. Everything else on the test page is perfect.

@goodall6, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand the printer is not printing in black. I believe you are using HP inks.

If the printer was not used for more than a couple of weeks, the ink could have dried up.

 

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Clean the black ink cartridge up to 2 times and print a test page to check the result.
