HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

My brand new 962 XL Yellow ink cartridge will not work.  After reinserting it 5 times, restarting the printer 4 times, unplugging the printer 3 times, cleaning the area to make sure it wasn't clogged I still could not get it work.  I finally put in another new cartridge and finally I was able to print again.  What can I do with this cartridge since I just took it out of it's packaging?
