I have three identical printers enrolled. It is sometimes confusing to figure out which ink shipment goes to which printer. Can the ink shipment be used in any of the enrolled printers when one is low on ink or is it necessary to match the shipment to the printer?

Hi @MB573,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Typically, ink shipments from HP Instant Ink are specifically tied to the printer enrolled in the program. Each enrolled printer has its own unique Instant Ink account and associated shipping details. Here’s how it generally works:
Printer-Specific Enrollment: When you enroll a printer in HP Instant Ink, you provide its specific model and serial number. This information links the printer to your Instant Ink account.
Shipment Matching: Ink shipments sent by HP are intended for the specific printer enrolled in the program. The cartridges are configured to work with that particular printer model.
Usage Restrictions: While the cartridges physically fit in other printers of the same model, HP's Instant Ink program is designed to prevent cartridges from being used in printers not enrolled in the program. The cartridges have a chip that communicates with the enrolled printer to monitor ink levels and ensure proper billing under the subscription.
Account Management: To avoid confusion, it’s important to manage your Instant Ink account properly. Ensure each printer is correctly identified in your account settings. This way, you can track ink levels and manage shipments more effectively.
In summary, ink shipments from HP Instant Ink are meant for the specific printer enrolled in the program. It’s important to manage your account settings correctly to avoid confusion and ensure that each printer receives the appropriate ink cartridges according to its enrollment.
Kindly help me with the printer model numbers so that, I can check and help you which printer goes with which cartridge.
Also, I would need a few details.
Since the instant ink account details are confidential, please send me the required information via private message.
