I don't have a router, I use community Xfinity wifi which requires my Xfinity username and password to log on.  I need  to connect printer to use my instaink account.  For printing and scanning, I can use direct wifi or cable. I don't know how to get printer to provide Xifinity with the logon information.

Hi @Calico3

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand you would like to connect the printer to the router. It is not recommended to use a guest network or a hotspot connected to the printer. It may or may not work and you may have intermittent connectivity issues.

The login information for Xfinity has to be obtained by your Internet service provider or in this case, the admin of the community wifi.

Instant Ink will not work on Wifi Direct or USB cable. The printer has to be connected to the Internet.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
