I canceled my instant ink plan only to keep being billed. I can't delete my credit card because there isn't an option listed to delete it. Not even in the payment section. It only gives you an option to add another card. This is crap! I want to remove my information from instant ink. I want to stop being billed for a subscription I've canceled!

No, I cannot do it from the website. There isn't an option anywhere!

HP, you're stealing my money and my privacy. Let me delete my card!

Hi @MommaLisa82

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

You're absolutely justified in being upset.

Here's what you need to know—and how to take action:

Why You're Still Being Billed

Even after canceling, HP continues billing until the end of your current billing cycle. You’ll receive a final charge at the end of that cycle, and only then does the subscription fully terminate.

Why You Can't Delete Your Credit Card

HP’s system does not allow you to remove your only payment method unless you:

  • Replace it with another valid card
  • Fully cancel your Instant Ink account

Even in the Billing Information section, many users report only seeing an option to add or edit a card—not delete it.

What You Can Do Right Now

1. Confirm Cancellation

  • Log into HP Instant Ink.
  • Go to My Account > HP Instant Ink > Update Plan.
  • Scroll to Plan Details and click Cancel My HP Instant Ink Subscription.
  • You should receive two emails: one confirming cancellation, and one at the end of the billing cycle.

2. Remove or Replace Credit Card

  • Go to Billing Information.
  • If “Remove” isn’t available, add a dummy card (e.g., a prepaid card with no funds).
  • Once added, you may be able to delete the original card.

We shouldn’t have to add a “dummy card.” We should be allowed to simply delete our credit cards as this feels extremely invasive of our personal information and rights,
