So my friend gave me his Deskjet 2652. He was enrolled in instant ink and the cartridges that are in the printer are basically new. He canceled the subscription for the printer so the cartridges no longer work, they say the require a subscription. I am trying to enroll, but can't figure out how to get the page with the code I need to print since the cartridges won't work. It says press Info and Cancel at the same time, but nothing prints. I assume because the cartridges are disabled since the printer doesn't have an active instant ink subscription? What do I do?

Hi @tms2010
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
The Instant Ink cartridges will not work once the plan is cancelled and you need to install the regular ink.
But here's what we can try, if the printer is connected to your phone, open the HP Smart app and obtain the IP Address.
1) In a supported web browser on your computer or a mobile device, type the IP address or hostname assigned to the printer.
For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser: http://192.168.0.12.
2) Click the Web Services tab.
3) In the Web Services Settings section, click Setup, click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions to accept the terms of use.
4) If prompted, choose to allow the printer to check for and install printer updates
5) When the printer is connected to the server, the printer will generate an eprint.com email address. The first part of the email address is the claim code that we need to setup the printer.
To know more, please refer to step#1 "Printers without a touchscreen or text-based display" from this document.
Once you have the claim code, try these steps - HP Printers - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks, I managed to get it to work. I had to disable web services and then turn them back on again, followed the steps and enrolled in Instant Ink.
