HP DeskJet 2700 All-in-One Printer series

I wanted to enroll this printer in HP+ but it tells me there is another account connected to it and I won't be able to enroll it. Is there any way to enroll this printer without being connected to the other account? I recently purchased this printer off of a friend of mine.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Your friend might have been subscribed to Instant Ink.

If yes, and he sold the printer without without having first cancelled the subscription, the printer is stuck in limbo:  It is still tied to the subscription and perhaps (likely??) still filled with now unusable (locked) Instant Ink cartridges.

If yes, you are now stuck in a weird place - In possession of a printer you cannot use until the subscription is voided and the ink cartridges are replaced with a purchased set of HP ink.

What else?

If this is an "e" printer that was enabled with HP+ (extended warranty, monitoring, HP Advance, and requirements for new the use of new HP genuine ink cartridges),

(then)

  • HP+ is NOT Instant Ink
  • Instant Ink might have been subscribed in addition to enabling HP+
  • Disabling the HP+ service -- if even possible -- would be separate from other services, including cancelling / voiding an Instant Ink subscription
  • HP+ is a separate support service and a separate contact from Instant Ink
