HP LaserJet MFP M140we Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The WiFi of my new internet provider is incompatible with HP Laserjet M140we. I Would like to cancel my istant ink subscription to eliminate the need of wifi. In this case, NO WiFi connection, I hope to print with only the USB cable.

Hi @mariocri,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand your situation when your HP LaserJet MFP M140we won’t connect to your new Wi-Fi, and you just want to print via USB without worrying about Instant Ink or cloud services. It can feel unnecessarily complicated. You're doing everything right by trying to simplify things, and I’m here to help you move forward.

Here's What You Can Do

1. Cancel HP Instant Ink Subscription

To remove the dependency on Wi-Fi and cloud services:

Once cancelled, please replace the instant ink toner/Cartridge and your printer will no longer require a constant internet connection to validate cartridge status.

2. Switch to USB-Only Printing

After cancelling Instant Ink:

Choose Windows 10 (64-bit) and download the Basic Drivers or Full Software Solution.

3. Disable HP+ Features (Optional)

If your printer was activated with HP+, it may still expect cloud connectivity. Unfortunately, HP+ cannot be disabled once activated, but cancelling Instant Ink and using a USB will allow basic printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
