Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am an HP+ member. I am using HP Smart with an HP Deskjet 2700e printer and Win10 Pro.   Subscribed to Instant Ink a few days ago.  Everything worked fine

Then, I changed Instant Ink subscription to a lower number of prints.

Now, HP smart  gives me this message:

"Just one last step. We need to connect your printer to HP Instant Ink."

"Finish connecting your printer to HP Instant Ink", and wants me to get HP Smart.

But, my computer is onine, and showing "connected", and already has HP Smart!

When I click on the prompt in the message, it merely cycles to my HP smart page, then back to the same prompt.

Clicking on "Get Supplies" loops through the whole thing again.

Printer prints with the little ink that is left.  Internet connected.  Everything else looks OK.

Any fix for the false "Connect your printer" problem?

Thanks!

Additional information:

I tried connecting via https://www.hpsmart.com/us/en/ucde/print_plans, but got the same "Just one last step. We need to connect your printer to HP Instant Ink."   Looping error.

Again, my printer and computer are connected to the internet, and I can access HP Smart to do the usual printing & scanning, and HP smart shows my printer is enrolled with HP Instant Ink.

How do I stop that looping error?

Hi @OldTimer13,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I suggest you perform a power reset using the below steps:

  • Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Once done, the below sequential steps should help resolve the issue:

Press the HP ePrint icon on your control panel display and select Remove Web Services. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove Web Services, press the HP ePrint icon again, and then follow the prompts to re-enable Web Services. A new Printer Info Page titled "Congratulations" prints with a new claim code. Try to claim the printer again using the new claim code. If the page does not print, see the troubleshooting item "The printer info page did not print". If you are unable to find the HP ePrint icon on your control panel display, see "Cannot find HP ePrint icon on printer control panel display".

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Um ... can you describe or provide an image of the ePrint icon on an HP 2723e?

There is no blue background icon with "HP" - nothing labelled "ePrint" on the printer itself.

The available icons on the printer are:

Information, Wireless, Copy (color or B&W), Cancel and Resume

(Yes, I did the power reset routine, and the following image is what my HP Smart page shows: )

(When I click on the Instant Ink button, the HP Smart page goes through the "connect computer" link as described earlier.)

(When I click on the Add New Printer button, the page shows my printer as OFFLINE, but it is indeed online as you can see on the following HP Smart image!)
