HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-in-One Printer

I can't print wirelessly recently so I reset the printer, which removed the instant ink subscription as well.

After reset, I can connect the printer in hpsmart app. But when I try to renew the instant ink subscription in hpinstantink.com, it keeps showing not able to connect to my printer. So I could not renew the subscription.

Help!

Hi @Jay456,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your wifi setup issues HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-In-One Printer and not able to connect to instant ink Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

1st let try WIFI issue

To assist you better:

  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
