Hi @Jen_01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

Try these steps:

Check HP Instant Ink Subscription Status

  1. Visit the HP Instant Ink Website: Open your browser and go to HP Instant Ink.
  2. Log In to Your Account: Use your credentials to log in.
  3. Verify Subscription:
    • Check if your subscription is active.
    • Make sure your payment information is up-to-date.
    • Look for any notifications regarding your account or cartridge shipment issues.

Examine Instant Ink Cartridges

Ensure the cartridges provided through the HP Instant Ink program are correctly installed and have status issues resolved:

  1. Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Allow the cartridge carriage to move to the center.
  2. Inspect Cartridges: Verify that the cartridges have no protective tape still on the contacts and are properly seated.
  3. Reinstall Cartridges: Remove and reseat the cartridges to ensure they are correctly installed.

Check for Firmware Updates

Outdated firmware can sometimes cause issues related to HP Instant Ink:

  1. Visit HP Support: Access the HP Support Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter Printer Model: Type HP OfficeJet 4650 and select it from the list.
  3. Download Firmware Updates: Follow instructions to download and install any available firmware updates.

Restart the Printer

Perform a restart to reset the printer:

  1. Turn Off Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait for 60 Seconds: Wait at least one minute.
  4. Reconnect Power Cord and Turn On: Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

I hope this helps.
