My  printer will not print says i must contct hp

If your HP OfficeJet 3831 is not printing and prompting you to contact HP, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

 

Are you using HP instant ink account ?

 

1. Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any specific error messages on the printer’s display. If there’s an error code, note it down as it can help identify the issue.

2. Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

3. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and that they have sufficient ink. Remove them and reseat them if necessary.

4. Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path.

5. Run Printer Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run any available diagnostic tests. This can help identify issues.

6. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure the printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

7. Reset Printer Settings:

  • Resetting the printer to factory settings can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Refer to the printer manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
