Hi @Markdawgg

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reporting this—I'm really sorry you're running into trouble enabling Web Services on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620. This feature is essential for HP ePrint, Instant Ink, and cloud-based printing, so let’s walk through a focused recovery process to get it working.

Step-by-Step Fix: Enable Web Services on HP 8620

1. Check Internet Connection

  • Make sure your printer is connected to a working Wi-Fi network.
  • On the printer’s control panel, tap Wireless icon > confirm signal strength and IP address.
  • If not connected, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect.

2. Reset Web Services

  • On the printer’s touchscreen:
    • Tap Setup (gear icon) > Web Services Setup.
    • If Web Services is already enabled, tap Remove Web Services.
    • Wait for it to reset, then tap Enable Web Services again.

This clears cached configuration and forces a fresh connection to HP’s servers.

3. Check Date and Time Settings

  • Go to Settings > Preferences > Date and Time.
  • Set the correct local time and date—Web Services won’t activate if this is incorrect.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can block Web Services activation.

5. Use HP Smart or Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If the touchscreen fails to activate Web Services:

  • Open a browser on your PC and enter your printer’s IP address (found under Wireless settings).
  • This opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Go to Web Services tab > click Enable Web Services.

If Activation Still Fails

  • Restart your router and printer.
  • Disable any firewall or VPN temporarily.
  • Try connecting to a mobile hotspot to rule out network blocks.

Let me know if you see a specific error code or message during activation—I’ll guide you further. You're doing everything right by tackling this early.
