Just signed up for HP+ and Instant Ink subscription. I see I have a 6 months subscription, but only for 50 pages.
If I increase that estimate now is there a charge? And if I decrease it - when I see my usage - at the end of the free trial, will I be charged?

Hi @fmkatz
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you're using HP+ and Instant Ink, the pricing and page limits can change based on the plan you select. Here’s how changes might affect your plan during and after the free trial:
1. Increasing Your Page Estimate During the Free Trial
- Will it incur a charge?
- If you increase your page limit during the free trial period, you will not be charged extra for this during the trial period. However, once the free trial ends, you'll be charged based on the new plan's page limit, so you'll need to monitor the page usage carefully.
- Plan Adjustments: HP gives you the flexibility to change your plan (e.g., from 50 pages to a higher tier) at any time, but keep in mind that this change will affect your future billing once the trial is over.
2. Decreasing Your Page Estimate
- Will you be charged at the end of the free trial?
- If you reduce the number of pages in your plan, you will not be charged extra, and it won’t impact your billing once the trial ends, as long as your usage stays within the new reduced page limit.
- Unused Pages: If you have a higher plan and you decide to lower your plan, the charges will be based on the new lower plan once the trial ends, but make sure the number of pages you're printing doesn’t exceed your new limit. If you exceed the page limit, extra charges could apply.
3. At the End of the Free Trial
- At the end of the 6-month free trial, your subscription will convert to a paid plan based on the page limit you have selected by that time.
- If you are exceeding the pages included in your chosen plan, HP may charge you for additional pages. It’s important to choose a plan that fits your expected monthly usage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
