OK, well to start we've always had issues with this printer. But since we switched to Spectrum internet these issues have been worse. Over time we have got it to work pretty good, but one issue persists, we can't always get it to print from our Iphones and many times the printer spits out blank pages, which I understand are counted towards your page count when using HP instant ink  It will print documents from this computer pretty good, but from the Iphones, not so good. Has anyone else dealt with this issue? This printer is of course out of warranty.  It is up to date on software from what I can tell. I think this is on the same WIFI network as the phones are.  Other than purchasing a new printer, I'm out of ideas.  I'm about ready to purchase another printer, but definitely not an HP..

Since the problem worsened after switching to Spectrum internet, ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone. A stable internet connection can resolve connectivity issues.

 

Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:

  1. Reset Printer Network Settings:
    • On your printer, go to the network settings menu and select Restore Network Settings.
  2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
    • Follow the printer setup instructions to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshoot Printing from iPhone

  • Make sure your printer and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Restart both your iPhone and printer.
    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and ensure you’re connected to the correct network. Open a document, tap the share icon, select Print, and ensure your printer appears in the list.

Resolve Printer Printing Blank Pages

  • Print a self-test or diagnostic page from your printer’s settings menu to check for issues.
    • Ensure ink cartridges are sufficiently filled and properly installed.
    • Align the print cartridges using the printer’s settings menu.
    • Use the printer’s built-in maintenance tool to clean the printhead.

Use the HP Smart App

Try using the HP Smart app for better connectivity and performance:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store on your iPhone.
    • Open the HP Smart app and follow the instructions to add your printer.
