Android 9.0 Pie

I recently enrolled in HP Instant Ink for my HP Deskjet 2710e printer.

All was well, but now I have an exclamation point showing on the printer display next to the Wi-Fi signal strength, and a constant orange light next to the 'I' button.

I have internet access and I can print absolutely fine, but the exclamation point and steady orange light never disappear. I have tried unplugging the plug etc. but to no avail.

Looking at similar posts it appears to be an error on the Instant Ink account which seems to require Support Agent involvement to rectify.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hello - thank-you for your reply, and my apologies for the delayed response.

I printed out the information page which stated the "Printer was not connected to the internet". It is, and I can access all functionality remotely, and everything seems to be all okay. I can print fine, and Instant Ink have just dispatched my first set of ink cartridges, so that seems okay too. I would just like the light and exclamation mark to disappear, although have somewhat begrudgingly got used to it now.

Other users who had identical issues seemed to indicate there was some issue associated with their Instant Ink account, I am not sure if that's where the problem lies.

Thanks again.

Follow these steps to fix the issue:-

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to fix connectivity and printing issues.

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
  • Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
  • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
  • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
  • If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
  • Try to print.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates
