How do I pay by debit card? I do not want to use credit card or PayPal

Do not use a debit card.  I have learned that from hard experience.  Even ChatGPT, the AI Robot, agrees with me, quoting from him, her or "it":

Using a debit card online can pose several risks and disadvantages, which is why many experts recommend using other payment methods such as credit cards or secure payment services. Here are the primary reasons:

  1. Limited Fraud Protection: Debit cards typically offer less fraud protection compared to credit cards. While most banks do provide some level of protection, it is often less comprehensive and slower to resolve compared to credit cards.

  2. Immediate Impact on Funds: When fraudulent activity occurs with a debit card, the money is immediately withdrawn from your bank account. This can lead to overdraft fees, missed payments for other bills, and general inconvenience while you wait for the bank to resolve the issue and refund your money.

  3. Lack of Chargeback Rights: Credit cards offer stronger chargeback rights, allowing you to dispute and reverse charges for faulty goods, services not rendered, or fraudulent transactions more easily than with a debit card.

  4. Potential for Higher Liability: If you do not report a lost or stolen debit card promptly, your liability for unauthorized transactions can be significantly higher. For example, under U.S. federal law, if you report the loss within two days, your liability is limited to $50. However, if you report it after two days but within 60 days, your liability can be up to $500. After 60 days, you may be responsible for all unauthorized transactions.

  5. Increased Risk of Data Breaches: Online transactions can expose your debit card information to hackers and data breaches. If your debit card details are compromised, the hacker has direct access to your bank account.

  6. Difficulty in Getting Refunds: When issues arise with purchases (e.g., receiving defective products or not receiving goods at all), it can be more challenging to get a refund through a debit card compared to a credit card.

To mitigate these risks, consider using credit cards, virtual credit cards, or secure payment platforms like PayPal when shopping online. These alternatives provide better protection, easier dispute processes, and prevent direct access to your primary bank account.
