I have never before heard of or registered for Instant Ink. My printer is connected to WiFi and has always printed just fine. All of a sudden it gives me the Instant Ink Error message. What do I do? I don't want a subscription or anything for ink, we buy it from Best Buy.

Hi @A_schnaidt

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Make sure you are not using HP Sinatnt Ink cartridges in the printer.

Disabling web services may resolve this issue, let us try these steps:

Print a network configuration page

On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.

  1. Find the printer IP address on the Network Configuration or self-test page.

Example of a printer IP address.

  2. On your computer, open an Internet browser.

  3. Type the printer IP address in the browser address bar, and then press Enter.

    NOTE:

Make sure to type the IP address into the Internet browser's address box. If typed into a toolbar search box or search engine, the Embedded Web Server (EWS) does not open.

  4. If a website security certificate displays in the Internet browser, click Continue.

The EWS information page for the printer opens.

  5. On the EWS webpage, click the Web Services tab, and then select Remove Web Services from the Web Services Settings list.

  6. Click Remove Web Services, and then follow the on-screen instructions to turn off Web Services.

Example of a clicking Remove Web Services.

Try printing.

If the issue persists, power reset the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
