I had an email saying I'm not using subscription ink but I am still using the ink that came with printer. Should I not be using up that ink? I'm worried about being taken off the subscription but it seems stupid to take the part used cartridges out and put in the ones that were sent to me when I started the subscription.

Anybody got any ideas?

@CanNoo, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've unsubscribed from Instant Ink, please remove the Instant Ink cartridges from your printer. To continue printing, you'll need to use Original HP cartridges.

For help identifying which cartridges work with your specific HP printer, please refer to this document: Which cartridges work with my HP printer? | HP® Support

Remember, Instant Ink cartridges only function with enrolled printers. At the end of your billing cycle, you must switch to Original HP Ink or Toner purchased directly from a retailer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

No, you misunlerstood me. I haven't unsubscribed from instant ink. When I received the printer there were some HP ink cartridges in the box which I assumed were the first cartridges of the instant ink subscription. I started using them and about a week later received some instant ink cartridges through the post. I didn't think I needed to remove the original cartridges as they hadn't been used - I thought I could just put in the cartridges I got through the post from instant ink  after I used up the original ones.

Please be clear, in order to stay subscribed to instant ink are you saying I must remove the part used cartridges and put in the instant ink ones I received in the post? This seems needlessly wasteful.

Another related question - I signed up for 3 months free instant ink - please confirm this will still stand as I did NOT unsubscribe at any point. If using the cartridges which came with printer interferes with the free trial it should be me clear - if it had been clear of course I would not have put the cartridges in the printer.

@CanNoo, Thank you for your response.

Kindly use the HP instant ink cartridges. And you can continue to use for the trial period. Post which, you will be charged based on the plan you selected before the start of the trial period.

I have been reading the instank ink information - here is a quote:

"Your service starts immediately upon enrollment using the cartridges that shipped with your printer.

When you provide a shipping address, a set of HP Instant cartridges is shipped to you.

If you enroll for the trial offered during printer setup, your trial months of service start right away."

It clearly states that the cartridges that came with the printer are part of the service. So they must count as instant ink. So surely I can use them up before installing the new cartridges?

Please confirm that I do not have to remove them until I have used them up and that my instant ink account will continue.
