Error Code: OW_4XX_OWSWS00001

Hi,

Setting up new printer through the HP Smart Ap. Finally connected via wifi to the new printer but on trying to register the printer get the Error Code: OW_4XX_OWSWS00001. Have tried the usual uninstall software/printer, reset printer, rebooted hub etc. but seems to fail everytime.  Also tried through the other HP app but again same issue. I need to register through the app due to Instant ink offer and promo code to extend free offer so avoiding website instant ink.

Error OW_4XX_OWSWS00001 appears when the printer can't complete its online registration with HP's servers, usually because the printer itself isn't reaching the internet or its web services are off.

1. Print a Network Configuration / Web Services report from the printer and confirm it shows an IP address and internet connection.
2. Make sure the phone/PC and printer are on the same Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz band if your router splits them), and turn off any VPN or ad-blocker on the device.
3. Update the printer firmware from the printer's control panel (Settings > Printer Update / Tools) if it lets you.
4. Sign out of the HP app, sign back in, and add the printer again.
5. If it still fails, it's usually an account-side issue that HP has to fix: https://support.hp.com/contact-hp

Please share the exact printer model.
