Hi @Ducky3278

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Choosing to recycle your old printers through HP’s official programs is a responsible step that helps reduce electronic waste and supports HP’s sustainability goals. 🌍

HP places a lot of emphasis on its Planet Partners recycling initiative, and by sending in your devices you’re directly contributing to that effort. Even though consumer printers don’t qualify for account credit, the fact that you’re prioritizing recycling shows real care for the environment and aligns with HP’s vision of a circular economy.

So while you won’t see a financial credit, you can take pride in knowing you’re making a positive impact by keeping materials out of landfills and ensuring they’re reused or safely processed.

HP does offer recycling for old printers through its Planet Partners program, but it does not currently provide account credit or financial incentives for recycling consumer printers.

Here’s what you can do with your two old printers:

HP Printer Recycling via Planet Partners

  • Visit HP’s official Product Return and Recycling page.
  • Select your country or region to view available recycling options.
  • HP provides free recycling for eligible devices, including printers, through authorized collection partners.
  • You’ll be guided to either:
    • Drop off at a local recycling center.
    • Ship the printer using a prepaid label (available in some regions).

What to Do Before Recycling

  • Remove ink cartridges and recycle them separately via HP’s Supplies Recycling Program.
  • Cancel or transfer any Instant Ink or All-In Print Plan linked to the old printers.
  • Perform a factory reset to clear stored data.
