HP DeskJet 2630 All-in-One Printer

I moved from UK to US and in the UK I had the 2600 series desk jet printer. The compatible cartridge for that is 304. However, in the US for the same printer, the compatible printer is 65. However, when I tried to put the 65 cartridge in my printer. I am getting the error as 'Incompatible Cartridge' error.

I am unsure how to get this fixed. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi @ronparekh,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are experiencing Instant Ink cartridge errors, the following steps may help resolve the issue.

  • Check for Ink Levels: First, check your printer's ink levels to make sure the cartridge has sufficient ink. You can check this on your printer's control panel or through the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
  • Clean the Cartridge: Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the contacts on the cartridge and the printer. This will remove any dust or debris that may be interfering with the connection.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 60 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart the Printer: If resetting the printer does not work, try restarting it. You can do this by turning the printer off, waiting for 60 seconds, and then turning it back on.
  • Remove and Reinsert the Cartridge: Remove the cartridge from the printer and reinsert it. Make sure it clicks into place.
  • Replace the Cartridge: If the cartridge is damaged or low on ink, you may need to replace it with a new one.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware updates installed. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
