True - If you have an Instant Ink subscription plan, yes - the Print-by-Page subscription charges a fee for the service.

The subscription is voluntary - that is, if you don't want the subscription, you can cancel it.

If you do have a subscription to Instant Ink,

If you do not want the subscription,

• Cancel the contract
• Remove all Instant Ink cartridges from the printer
• Purchase a full set of HP cartridges and install

Printer does not need a subscription to Instant Ink to be used.

If you have a subscription to Instant Ink and you don't want it, Cancel the subscription.

After you cancel a subscription to Instant Ink,

• Remove all Instant Ink cartridges from the printer
• Purchase HP ink cartridges and install
• Ideally, because all Instant Ink cartridges remain the property of HP - return the Instant Ink cartridges to HP (service is free).

If you do not understand what the subscription means,

If you cannot cancel an unwanted subscription.
