I have a printer called Hp envy photo 7134 that I got from my grandmother, when I want to register for the instant ink service it shows the following error code: GCAG001, I read it online, this could also be because the printer is already registered to another old one, which can happen because of what. Is there anything I can do about this?

Hi @Zolicsku

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are encountering the error code GCAG001 while trying to register your HP Envy Photo 7134 for the HP Instant Ink service. It often indicates the printer might already be registered under a different account. Here are steps you can take to resolve this:

Verify Registration: Confirm with the previous owner (in this case, your grandmother) if the printer was registered for Instant Ink and if the account can be accessed.

Ask your grandmother (or the previous owner) to remove the printer

Ask her to log in to her HP Smart / Instant Ink account at https://instantink.hpconnected.com.

Go to My Account → My Printers.

Find the HP Envy Photo 7134, then select Remove Printer or Cancel Subscription.

Once cancelled, wait a few minutes, then turn the printer off and back on.

Try enrolling again on your own HP account.

It can take up to 24 hours for HP’s system to fully release the printer from the old account.

Unregister the Printer: If possible, log in to the HP Instant Ink account associated with the printer and deregister or remove the printer from the account.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
