HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have Instant Ink and have used it for years (love it!).  Recently I had to print 100 flyers and after 80 or so the printer said to replace the color cartridges -- they were all almost empty.  I replaced all three -- blue, cyan, and yellow.  After changing the cartridges, the print job finished.  The last several are all blueish instead of yellow and orange (see attached with before and after snippets).

I have remove and replaced the cartridges, cleaned the contact points, cleaned the print head, aligned the printer, etc. and I still get the exact same blueish results.

Thanks in advance for any further suggestions!

Hi @dash88,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a print quality issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist better:

  • Does the copy print out the same way?
  • What's the application you are trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable to your printer -  Print Quality Issues

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue still persists, I'm sending out a private message to assist you with the next course of action.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link.

Hi Anand_Andy!

Thank you for getting back to me. As requested I'm attaching a copy of the Print Quality Diagnostic page.

As for your questions:

1. Yes, doing a color copy that has orange or yellow prints greens and blues instead.

2. We printed from both Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word on Windows 10 machines (two different ones), as well as applications on my iPhone (HP Smart Print) and my wife's Google Pixel.  Same results in all cases.  Green and Blue instead of Orange and Yellow.

I mentioned that I've subscribed to HP Instant Ink for years (same printer - HP 8610) and never had this issue before.  I truly believe it is a problem with the yellow cartridge specifically.

Thank  you again!
