HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

I HAVE HAD HP ENVY PRINTERS FOR MANY YEARS AND THIS ONE IS JUST SO CRAPPY.  IT TAKES FOREVER TO START A PRINT JOB,  USE IT ON A NETWORK OR BY USB AND IT STILL STINKS.

HEY YOUR CREDIT CARD GETS STOLEN.  HP TRIES TO BILL YOU FOR INK. ....THEY FREEZE YOUR PRINTER TIL YOU CALL. WHAT DOES ANY ONE ELSE THINK?

@WACCABUCWILL, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP ENVY 6455e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I can understand how frustrating it can be when a device doesn't meet your expectations, especially when you have consistently used products from the same brand. If you are experiencing issues with the HP ENVY 6455e, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the problems:

Printer Setup and Software Updates: Make sure the printer’s firmware and the installed software are up-to-date. HP frequently releases updates that improve performance and fix known issues.

Troubleshooting Network Connections: Ensure that your network is stable if you are using a network connection. Sometimes, network instability can slow down the printing process.

HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to diagnose issues. This app often diagnoses and repairs common issues with printers.

Check for Paper Jams or Blockages: Ensure there aren't any paper jams or blockages that could be causing delays.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thanks for the reply.  I have done much if not all of it.  I have had HP products for over 40 years.  Plotters, HP CPM desktops, HPIB cables (?) etc.  I worked for a scientific firm (Zeiss) and I was told that we were the larget HP buyer in the world back then.

Having a replacement credit card causing a shut down or lock down of the printer due to a 7 buck ink monthly fee is crazy.

It just seems that this printer talks to much to the HP mother ship.  Gotta keep ntrack to generate a bill. ts not a big issue.  I wil just toss it out the window one day.  Its just that I have had 4 Envy printers.

PS MY HP fax machine was another sad story.  It worked but you folks stopped making cartridges for it. And Ebay sold out of date sky high priced old ones.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience—and for being such a long-time HP user. We truly appreciate your loyalty over the years.

I completely understand how frustrating this must feel, especially when you’ve had a long history of using HP products successfully. The issues with the printer’s performance and the impact of Instant Ink billing on usability shouldn’t get in the way of productivity or peace of mind.

You're right—these newer models do communicate more with our servers to support features like Instant Ink, but it should never feel intrusive or like it’s holding your device hostage. Your feedback about that and about legacy product support is incredibly valuable, and I’ll make sure it gets passed along.

Thanks again for your candid input.

Warm regards,
