Product: HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

I just set up my HP Envy 6455e printer and see that somehow I was signed -up for a $14.99 monthly charge. I see that there is also a different $7.99 monthly option. All I really want is for my printer to print or scan my documents and pictures. Or copy same. 
Question is : what are these charges for. I want to believe I can just cancel them and use the printer for the simple tasks above.
