I received my HP Instant Ink cartridges a few days ago. I installed the cyan, magenta, and yellow instant ink cartridges, however I didn’t install the black one because we had just put in a new black ink cartridge about two weeks prior. Well, didn’t that just mess everything up because now my printer doesn’t work at all. I had to go buy a new $230 printer, when the one I already had was working perfectly fine until installing these new instant ink cartridges. The carriage that holds the ink won’t even slide over to the middle anymore when I open the lid, so even if I wanted to install the fourth black cartridge, my printer won’t let me. I spoke to three different customer service agents on the phone, and all they could suggest was to turn my printer off and then on again, even after I told them I’ve done that already, many times.

To move the printer head using the HP EWS (Embedded Web Server), open the EWS through your web browser by entering your printer's IP address, navigate to the appropriate "Maintenance" or "Print Quality Tools" section depending on your printer model, and then use the available options to manually move the printhead to the desired position.
