Hi @Mikexpc,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8122e and do not wish to use HP's Instant Ink service, you can set up your printer without enrolling in the Instant Ink program. Here's how to proceed.
Setup Your Printer:
- Unbox your printer and remove all packaging materials.
- Plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Install the ink cartridges that came with the printer.
- Load paper into the paper tray.
Connect Your Printer to Wi-Fi:
- Use the printer's touchscreen to navigate to the wireless setup menu.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password to connect.
Install Printer Software:
- Download and install the latest printer software and drivers from the HP Support website.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process on your computer.
Bypass Instant Ink Enrollment:
- During the setup process, you may be prompted to sign up for Instant Ink. Look for an option to skip or decline this offer.
- You can also choose to set up your printer without creating an HP account if prompted.
Purchase Regular Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure you have a set of standard (non-Instant Ink) HP ink cartridges for replacement when needed.
- You can purchase these from any retailer that sells HP printer supplies.
Check Printer Status:
- Once the setup is complete, print a test page to ensure everything is working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
