I find this response somewhat helpful, but not directly on point. I accept the answer that I can get ink from Instant Ink now, but I was wanting to get an opinion as to how long these ink cartridges will be available now that this printer is no longer supported. If no other printers use this specific set of cartridges I expect that at some point HP will discontinue them as well. I am just looking for an opinion as to what that horizon will be.

@rrb57, thank you for the thoughtful follow-up — that’s a great and very practical question.
Even though the OfficeJet Pro 8035e has been discontinued, HP generally supports ink availability for several years after a printer is retired, especially if there's an active user base or Instant Ink subscribers still relying on those cartridges.
While we can’t give an exact expiration date, you can expect continued support and cartridge availability for the foreseeable future — think of it like a gentle fade-out rather than a sudden stop. The Instant Ink service especially helps extend that timeline by keeping supplies flowing as long as your subscription remains active.
Hope this helps!
