I'm trying to sign up for HP instant ink but when I try to add this printer to my HP Smart account it tells me it's already connected to another account. What do I do?

Hi @Serapheva,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e is already connected to another HP Smart account, you'll need to disconnect it from that account before you can add it to your own. Here's what you can do.

Check with the Previous Owner: If you acquired the printer second-hand or from another source, reach out to the previous owner and ask them to remove the printer from their HP Smart account.

Factory Reset: If you can't contact the previous owner or if they are unable to remove the printer from their account, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. This will clear any previous connections and allow you to set it up anew.

To perform a factory reset:

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  • Wait for a few seconds, then press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously until the Power light blinks.
  • Release the buttons and the printer will reset.

Once the printer is disconnected from the previous account, you should be able to add it to your HP Smart account and proceed with signing up for HP Instant Ink.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
