Although my HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e blue light is solid and is connected to the same network as my Surface Pro tablet and Samsung S22 phone, this printer will not connect wirelessly to HP Smart and Instant Ink.  Having spoken with Instant Ink support and technical support on six occasions, we have tried everything you can imagine.  Before I give up, thought I'd ask this community if perhaps someone has any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Blue Light is good -- The printer must be connected to your local network, of course.

In addition, certain services -- for example, Instant Ink -- require the printer be connected to Web Services.

No, I cannot explain why HP Instant Ink Support  would not be able to help.

Possible

The source of the problem can be on your side, for example, DNS, router, or service issues.

I will forward your concern to our Moderator team.

Should there be a response, look for a message here before the agent uses other methods to contact you.

DNS

  • Web Services might be sensitive to your DNS setup – DNS outdated?  Check.
  • The source of the Web Services issue could be your Internet Service Provider,
  • The source of the Web Services problem could be an interim connection at that moment,
  • The source of the Web Services problem could be tangled within the Printer connection setup

  • Try: Restart the router that controls your network – next, restart the computer(s) and the printer.
  • Consider, if you can stand it:  Switch off your phone(s), and Restart those devices.
  • Consider the netsh reset options for your Windows machine.  Reference:  How (and Why) to Perform a netsh winsock reset on Windows
