HP insta ink plan problems

I have been an InstaInk customer since the purchase of this printer. Recently I have been getting a message in my printer that the ink cartridges furnished by the HP plan are not authentic.  Does this inhibitor the proper operation of the printer and why the heck am I getting this message if they are furnishing the cartridges?
