When atttempting to download monthly invoices on the HP Instant Ink Website, having just logged in and navigated to the print and payment history page, one clicks on the download for the latest invoice (or any for that matter) to be faced with a screen saying I have been logged out due to inactivity for over 15 minutes (perhaps the webside coder/programmer mixed nanoseconds up with minutes). After logging in again I am back on the print and payment history page, then I can download the invoice.  This is not a recent issue and has been like this for as long as i have used the site. Even this message page has a fault that I can't change the subject/board to the correct one!

Hi @Barney123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating this long-standing login loop is, especially when all you’re trying to do is download your Instant Ink invoices. We appreciate you taking the time to explain the issue clearly.

This behavior is related to a session refresh problem in the Instant Ink web portal, and it does happen intermittently for some customers. Below are the steps that typically resolve it or provide a stable workaround.

Try These Steps to Fix the Instant Ink 'Logged out due to inactivity” Issue

1. Clear Browser Cache & Cookies

A corrupted session token often triggers the instant logout message.

2. Use a Different Browser

Some browsers handle HP session cookies differently.

Try:

  • Chrome
  • Edge
  • Firefox
  • Safari (Mac)

Many users report that switching to Edge or Firefox prevents the logout error entirely.

3. Disable Extensions Temporarily

Extensions like ad-blockers, script blockers, privacy tools, or VPNs can break the Instant Ink session renewal script.

Try disabling:

  • AdBlock / uBlock
  • Ghostery
  • Privacy Badger
  • VPN clients
  • Enterprise proxy filters

Then load the invoice page again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
