Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

I have been in HP hell for over one week.  I inadvertently purchased the HP “all in one” ink plan when we already own an HP Envy 7200e printer.  I called the next day when I discovered my error and cancelled the plan.  I then called customer service and signed up for an “instant ink only” plan and since that day, my printer does not work.

Tech support got me back online for one day then 24 hrs later the printer prompted “offline”.  We only have one (color) cartridge loaded as we are out of the black (temporarily) and the printer worked fine.  Then it didn’t.

Fast forward back to customer service who told me the printer will not work until a new (black) cartridge is installed.  That had not been the case before.

My husband is an author by trade and prints on a regular basis.  This has been a HUGE inconvenience.

Hi @Addie1188,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing with your HP Instant Ink subscription and printer. Here are some steps that might help resolve your issue:

Steps to Address the Issue

Check Enrollment: Ensure that your HP Envy 7200e printer is properly enrolled in the Instant Ink plan. Verify that the Instant Ink account reflects the current subscription and printer details.

Internet Connection: Make sure your printer is connected to the internet. Instant Ink requires an active internet connection for Web Services to function.

Reinstallation of Cartridges: Remove the Instant Ink cartridges from your printer, check them, and reinstall them. Ensure they are seated correctly.

Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn on the printer.

Software Update: Ensure your printer’s software and firmware are up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app HP Smart or HP Support Assistant HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.

Check Account Status: Log into your HP Instant Ink account and verify no alerts or errors are indicating a connection or account issue.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
